METRO WATER SERVICES CENTRAL WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT (CWWTP)

The Central Wastewater Treatment Plant near downtown Nashville has a total treatment capacity of 330 MGD. In the past decade, Metro Water Services (MWS) has executed extensive enhancements to increase the plant’s capacity and improve its efficiency and odor control capability. Athena was tasked with providing geotechnical and geophysical investigations to help MWS’s contracted firms locate new construction and identify opportunities to re-use existing infrastructure used to develop a Basis of Design Report (BODR) technical memo.

After the initial investigation, MWS choose the best design alternative for the upgrade and expansion project.  MWS contracted two design firms for which Athena performed the geotechnical investigation reporting with investigation and analyses, including boreholes for both firms.
