AWARDS AND RECOGNITION
The American Council of Engineering Companies’ (ACEC) annual Engineering Excellence Awards (EEA) competition recognizes engineering firms for projects that demonstrate a high degree of achievement, value, and ingenuity. For 20 consecutive years, ACEC of Tennessee has recognized the most innovative projects and studies performed by Tennessee firms. Athena has been rewarded many times over the past several years with EEA Awards, ranging from Honorable Mention to Merit, or Category Winner. ACEC Engineering Excellence Honor Award
Awarded in 2022 for the Environmental Sub-slab Solvent Plume Investigation at the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility
HIRE Vets Platinum Medallion Award
The HIRE Vets Medallion Award is the only federal-level veterans’ employment award that recognizes a company or organization’s commitment to veteran hiring, retention, and professional development.
CONRAC – Honor Award
For geotechnical investigation and construction quality assurance and special inspection before and during the construction of the Consolidated Rental Agency Complex (CONRAC) which is a 900,000 square-foot facility at the Nashville International Airport.
Wolf Creek Dam – Grand Award
For Wolf Creek Dam exploratory drilling and pressure testing in Jamestown, Kentucky for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Nashville District.
MNAA 2L-20R Runway – Honor
For comprehensive geotechnical investigation of runway 2L-20R at Nashville International Airport under extreme time constraints.
Rolling Mill Hill – Merit Award
For completing the Brownfield Reimbursement Grant requirements in less than 4-months for the Metropolitan Development & Housing Authority for the Rolling Mill Hill brownfield site.
West Riverfront Park Redevelopment – Grand Award
For Environmental Assessment for the revitalization of this brownfield site from municipal solid waste incinerator to Civic Icon downtown park and amphitheater.
Omohundro WTP – Grand Award
For Omohundro Water Treatment Plant Hazardous Materials Abatement, for Metro Nashville Water Services.
Biloxi Bay Bridge – Honor
For quality control testing of concrete & aggregate during re-construction of the Biloxi Bay Bridge for Mississippi Department of Transportation under extreme conditions.
