CIVIL WORKS JOHNSON CONTRACT

Athena recently completed our second Value Engineering study in support of Flood Risk Management projects in Johnson County, KY. The first Value Engineering study, conducted in 2020, identified over $22M in potential savings, of which $20.9M were accepted. The most recent study, conducted in June 2021, was a second evaluation of the revised design, intended to validate the results from the previous study and identify any additional value improvement opportunities. This second Value Engineering study identified an additional $35.7M in potential cost savings to include $6.5M in life cycle cost savings. Of these cost savings proposal, $3.4M were approved for implementation and another $32.3M were accepted for further study. All told, the Athena team identified $24.3M in approved project cost savings, with an additional $32.3M in potential future savings.
