Position Description:

This is a leadership position within the field of Construction Engineering.  The successful candidate will have a minimum of six years of construction-related experience on civil or construction engineering projects, such as the performance of site planning and design, new construction design or field superintendent, contract administration, threshold inspections, construction materials testing or similar services.  Typical work assignments include:

  • Review of plans and specifications for new construction projects to determine QC needs
  • Oversight of QC during new construction/Owners Representative duties
  • Oversight of field/construction inspectors and QC staff
  • Contract administration and Record Keeping for large and complex construction projects

Typical clients include federal government (Dept of Defense, Corps of Engineers), state government (Dept of Transportation, Universities) local governments and municipalities, as well as private entities. Candidate must have good written and communication skills and the ability to think on his/her feet. 

Experience Required:

Registration as a Professional Engineer with a BS in Civil Engineering is preferred.  Alternately, a minimum of ten years of experience as a field construction inspector, and a two year degree or better, in Construction Technology or a related field, and a minimum of five years of experience in a supervisory position.

Skill Requirements:

The ability to listen to clients and other project-related parties, to perceive needs, and offer potential solutions, is required.  In addition, the ability to directly supervise multiple field personnel providing construction-related services in several locations is required, as well as the ability to positively impact their careers so that they are continually growing and increasing their value to the company and the industry.

Salary Range: Compensation is on a salaried basis (exempt) with bonus opportunities, commensurate with degree, experience and training.
