Construction Inspector

Position Description:

Mid-level position requiring some previous experience or understanding of general construction practices and quality control techniques. Position usually supports large public infrastructure projects, such as new highway construction, and has ample room for advancement. Typical work assignments include:

Must have a vehicle in good working condition to travel to local job sites. The ability to travel to remote project sites for overnight stays may be required.

Candidate must have good written and communication skills and the ability to think on his/her feet. A professional demeanor and a desire to excel a plus. The candidate will report to the Construction Engineering and Inspection Department Manager.

Experience Required:

Field Construction Inspector with a minimum of five years of experience in the materials testing industry, or a two year degree in CADD or Building Technology and two years of experience in construction, or a four year degree in Construction Management or a related field.

Skill Requirements:

The ability to listen, follow instructions, take accurate notes and report on observations with clarity. In addition, computer literacy and problem solving skills a plus. ACI Level I or higher a plus. NICET Level I or higher a plus. Nuclear Density Gauge Safety Training a plus.
